The Young Living Organization
Young Living, a company dedicated to producing and marketing the best essential oils in the market is the initiative of Gary and Mary Young. It all began in 1993 when he Youngs developed their first organic herb farming and distillation operation. The founding of this Young Living enterprise came about because Gary Yung had discovered the marvelous benefits of essential oils. But he also knew that the quality of these oils varied and he was unable to leverage their full potential. Mary believed that her experience in direct selling could help drive new business in this industry, especially if they followed the distributor sales model, and this led to the founding of Young Living in 1994.
The Youngs began by developing farmland in Utah and Idaho. They cultivated lavender, sage, peppermint and other herbs. The Youngs designed and built a state of the art essential oil distillery and created the Seed to Seal process which protects the integrity of essential oils throughout the entire production process. Today, Young Living is a world leader in essential oils and the company’s headquarters are located in Lehi Utah and offices around the world. Their mission is simple:

An Organization with Humanitarianism at Heart
In operating the Young Living entrepreneurial effort Gary encountered many life-changing experiences, the most profound was when he saw the deplorable condition children of Ecuador faced when going to school. While living there and cultivation herbs indigenous to the area, Young noticed children entered a dilapidated building to attend school. Upon further investigation, he found 42 children studying in a single room school. Children shared school supplies, sat at broken tables and received classes from volunteers. He wondered how these children could learn in such deplorable conditions. This led to establishing the Young Living Foundation and the building of Young Living Academy which now educates more than 350 students.
