IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF DAN GOMAN, FOUNDER AND CEO OF OWNZONES
Dan Goman was born in 1970s in Eastern Europe and he is the founder and the CEO of OWNZONE Entertainment Technologies. Goman was born in Romania to a two University professors who were critical to the regime by then that was controlling it citizens on various matters of life including religion. Their criticism to the government made his parent seek asylum to the United States of America when Goman was 7 years old. He was not conversant with English and he used television shows to learn the language. His father bought him an old computer and some floppy disks which helped teach himself programming.
He attended the University of Maryland where upon graduation worked with big companies like AT & T and Microsoft which helped gain the technological experience which influenced him start OWNZONES between 2009 and 2010. The company was founded as multi-platform streaming services providing subscription video on demand but later changed and concentrated on providing business to business solutions to similar companies as OWNZONES. As a multi-platform services, the company was a success with over 400 channels.
Goman notes cloud computing as a significant trend in the technological world. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the cloud computing demand has significantly increased. It has become easier to work remotely from the comfort of home. Previously, the idea of working from home would not have been easy as most of the bulky servers could only be accessed in the workplaces. Today, one requires a laptop and access to the cloud and comfortably work from anywhere hence reducing the transmission of Covid-19.
According to Goman, the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the filming and streaming industries. The production of some movies has halt indefinitely while the theatre tickets are shrinking owing to the restrictions on gathering and social distancing. Consequently, many companies are shifting to streaming their contents giving rise the demand of services by companies like OWNZONES which has greatly helped Goman’s to navigate the storm.
Goman explains one important activity is exercising. One has to be health to increase his optimum output. Exercising should be part of the every day’s routine. He also urges people slow down and relax as success is a gradual process that sometimes takes time. He also urges leaders of companies to take time to think and research in their busy schedules. He recommends a book by The Black Swan by Nassim Taleb.
