Sudhir Choudhrie – An Entrepreneur and Vintage Car Enthusiast
Sudhir Choudhrie was born and raised in India and is both a businessman and a philanthropist. Though he was born in 1949 and raised here single-handedly by his mother, he currently stays abroad. To this day, Sudhir Choudhrie still considers his mother as his greatest role model. He went to the University of Delhi, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics after joining his grandfather in his real estate business.
It was not so long that he decided to try out his lack still in business, where he started importing television equipment from London and reselling them in India. This business boomed, and he made a success out of it. One of his major customers would be the Indian government, as at the time, it was concentrating on opening a bunch of television stations. This was between the 60s and 70s. As one good turn deserves another, Sudhir Choudhrie decided to branch out his importing business and include a wide range of farm machinery and other products. Since opening this company, Sudhir Choudhrie has launched many other successful businesses that grown them to success. As an international businessman, Sudhir Choudhrie has a great passion for philanthropy, private collecting, and supporting the causes of those around him.
He owns one of the largest private vintage car collections in the world. His collection is defined by most of the cars that were made before 1940. He enjoys collecting those cars in their poor condition then restoring them to a new state. He believes that by restoring them, other people will appreciate them the way he does. He has received several accolades, such as the Asian Business Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded to him by her excellency Theresa May. The businessman is married to Anita, and they have children Bhanu and Dhairya. He moved to London, acquiring UK citizenship in 2010. His net worth is estimated at $2 billion.
