Shah and Financial Contributions

Niranjan Shah does more than simply engaging in financial contributions to many initiatives and causes, he donates something that is far more important, his time. Shah has served on the committees and boards of many federal and state governments. He was appointed a Board Member of the Barry Goldwater Foundation in 1995. He has also chaired the board of regents of the Finance and Facility Committee of Chicago. He is on the board of trustees of the University of Illinois, and the Vice Chairman of the Delhi-Chicago Sister Cities International.

The Mogul

The mogul is a part of the Merit Board of the Illinois State Police. He was also part of the Asian American Advisory Committee that was brought about by Senator Paul Simon. At the request of Mayor Daley, Shah brought his expertise to the Economic Development Committee.

Shah and Connections

Since Niranjan Shah was born in India, he has a deep connection to his roots and the humble beginnings from where he comes from. Shah has spoken about the village he was born and grew up in which did not have electricity or running water. Throughout his success with Globetrotters the philanthropist has made it a point to support villages in India by creating programs for the welfare of the local people. Shah has extended a helping hand to these areas with the help of United States program of which Shah Center at Mchenry County College is also a part.

Niranjan Shah founded Globetrotters Engineering, and International and has led it to become an international company. He takes great pride in heading a minority owned large scale business in the US. The company has been involved in large scale civil projects in Chicago including the Deep Tunnel, the Midway International Airport, Terminal 5 of the O’Hare airport, and John Stroger Jr. Hospital. All of these are important developments for the Chicago community.

He has received the Civil Engineering Achievement Award from American Society of Civil Engineers. In 2006 the President of India honored him with Parvasi Bharatiya Samman, which is an incredibly prestigious award.
