How Vik Bansal Revived Cleanaway
In June, Vik Bansal is set to exit Cleanaway after six years. Mr. Bansal is leaving the company after he has helped it rise from debts. When he joined the company in 2015, he decided to place his focus on restructuring the operating model of Cleanaway first before rebranding. Therefore, after correcting the Cleanaway operating model, he took a move to start the rebranding process.
When Vik Bansal Cleanaway joined the company, it operated as a multi-brand but operating with such a structure was causing adverse effects.
Therefore, upon consultation with various parties ranging from executives, employees, and investors, an agreement was reached to rebrand the company. Bansal’s focus was on making the company futuristic. Therefore, he concentrated on ensuring the company’s sustainable waste management agenda was reached and that the company became an organization that would withstand challenges. Collaborative leadership
Vik Bansal introduced a new mission in the company, the Cleanaway way. The mission was meant to bring everyone on board, right from investors, employees, and executives, for a common purpose. Everyone within the company began working towards the same goal.
The company now had a common language and cohesion. The new mission outlined the company’s values, and Vik Bansal, together with the entire Cleanaway fraternity, had at hand the expectation of every person. Two years later, in 2017, after joining Cleanaway, the company relations between investors became positive.
Creation of Footprint 2025
Australia is ranked as the largest waste producer in the world. Having dealt with the structure of Cleanaway internally, Mr. Bansal decided to look at the external structure, therefore, he created FootPrint 2025. The purpose of the initiative was to ensure that the country had a straightforward way of dealing with waste in the future.
Even though Vik has done great in waste Management and Remediation Services, he is also experienced in other areas like engineering and manufacturing, having worked for companies like Valmont Inc.
