Alejandro Betancourt Lopez Says Self-Improvement Is The Key To Success
Alejandro Betancourt Lopez left his home in Venezuela to become an entrepreneur, finding his way on to the global stage, working in energy and technology. That’s a breadth of experience that’s served his career well, but the most important thing he’s found is the benefits of self-improvement.
Self-improvement involves a series of steps that goes from an idea to a major goal. In interviews, Alejandro Betancourt Lopez repeatedly states his desire to improve himself by working with people and empowering himself to remain motivated and focused on what matters most to him.
For him, self-improvement starts with having purpose. At an early age he had an idea of what field he wanted to work in. That involved leaving his home to come to Boston. There he entered Suffolk University, and graduated with a double-major in economics and business administration. That was the right combination of education accomplishments to get him a start in the oil industry. After that first step, maintaining momentum helped bring him to the challenges that would define his career.
No matter the path a career takes, Alejandro Betancourt Lopez states that no professional life is lived alone. Failures will happen but they’ll provide the opportunity to learn. It’s best when that is combined with others who can teach. Mentors and peers both can instruct newcomers to how a company functions, the kind of culture they’ll find there, and how to communicate across the industry. Learning from others taught him how to appreciate the social circles he forged there, and through them become a better and more open communicator willing to share what he’s learned from others.
No matter how big those social circles are, Alejandro Betancourt Lopez devotes a lot of energy to preparing himself for challenges. A lover of technology, he says it’s been part of his career trajectory to remain as far ahead of changes as possible by being up to date to industrial technology. Though risks will still occur, as it’s part of business, working on staying prepared keeps him eager to face changes and embrace it as part of his personal growth.
Being an enterprising person doesn’t mean companies will be able to appreciate what they can bring. Alejandro Betancourt Lopez moves past that to encourage others to focus more on the philosophy of developing themselves, becoming more understanding, being better in their field, and finding the tools to remain confident while walking their own path.
