Get to know Bio Ritmo CEO Edgard Corona
Edgard Corona is the current CEO and founder of Bio Ritmo, a well-known company in the fitness industry in Latin American countries. Apart from creating Bio Ritmo, he is an active supporter of business management in sports. Before joining the fitness industry, Edgard worked in the industrial sector. Additionally, he has also become a popular figure in the political scene.
Edgard Corona was born in the late 1950s and studied chemical engineering at University between 1974 and 1979. In the early 1980s, Edgard worked in the chemical laboratory of his family’s factory. Since the factory was struggling financially, Edgard Corona was appointed as the COO to try and salvage the situation. Fortunately, he managed to bring back the company to its feet. However, in the 1990s, some issues in the company forced him to quit.
When he left the factory, Edgard Corona was appointed in the management of his family’s academy. Since he did not have much on his hands, he focused exclusively on the business. In his quest to create a professional career, he founded Bio Ritmo in 1996. His plan in the fitness industry was similar to the one in the sugar industry, create a new management model. Unfortunately, Bio Ritmo did not pick up well in the first few years.
In 2000, Edgard opened a new branch of the Bio Ritmo academy in Avenida Paulista to help people who did not have enough time to carry out physical activities due to their busy schedules. People appreciated the initiative and the company opened up new branches in more cities.
In 2008, Edgard founded Smart fit, a gym model that provides high-quality services at the lowest price in the market. More people continued enrolling in the Smart fit gym, dominating the Latin American fitness sector. The growth of the business put Edgard Corona in a senior position among the businessmen in the country.
