Greg Blatt has worked for some major players in the field of corporate law before becoming a business executive. During his time in college, he was never sure what exactly he wanted to do when it came to his career. After earning an English degree, he decided to take a break from his education and choosing a career path to discover himself while traveling the globe. During this time, he took on a variety of odd jobs like bartending and painting. He enjoyed his time being free and experiencing the world through nature before he decided to return to his education by applying for law school.
After being accepted into Columbia Law School and earning his law degree, he took a job in New York that ended up being one of the most demanding that he had in his career. While this experience may have made him question whether he wanted to continue being a lawyer or if he wanted to change career paths. Instead of giving up on law altogether, Greg Blatt switched to a new firm where he worked as an entertainment lawyer. After becoming close to one of their clients, Martha Stewart, he was asked to work for her company when it went public.
It was during his time with Martha Stewart’s company that someone recommended he take a position with IAC as VP general counsel. This move led to him eventually serving as the Chief Executive Officer for multiple companies in the industry of online dating. By staying open to new opportunities, Greg Blatt has been able to make some important career moves. He states that he tries to trust his gut when it comes to making choices about the different options he can take and problem-solving has always been something he has considered one of his strong suits.
