James Dondero is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma honors while attending McIntire School of Commerce. Aside from school, John has also obtained three certifications. These include a designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, and Certified Managerial Accountant.
Career Background
Ever since he stepped foot in finance, James Dondero continues to grow his reach when it comes to investing. In fact, James created NexPoint, which is devoted to retail offerings. He currently sits as NexPoint Advisors, L.P. president, NexPoint Residential Trust President, and many different offerings supported by NexPoint as an adviser. Plus, he manages a multitude of portfolios for many funds and NexPoint accounts as well as through his Highland firm.
In addition to his many other roles, James fills the role of director within many financial service companies, real estate companies, and within the hospital setting. These entities include CCS Medical, Cornerstone Healthcare Group Holding, and NexBank Capital. James also serves on the boards of Jernigan Capital and MGM Holdings.
