Paula Wallace SCAD Co-founder
Paula Wallace SCAD is the wife of Glenn and mother to three children, Trace, Marisa, Madison, and John Paul. She studied at Furman University and attained her degree in Bachelor of Arts. Paula is also a co-founder of SCAD- which stands for the Savannah College of Art and Design.
SCAD is a non-profit institution that was established in 1978. Although in the first enrollment of 1979 SCAD managed admission of 71 students, it is currently the largest arts university offering more than 40 courses.
Forty years later SCAD has grown its population to 15000 in four locations which are on three continents and a long list of 45000 alumni. Paula Wallace is also the president of SCAD and in her tenure the growth of the college includes SCAD-Atlanta, eLearning, Hong Kong, and Lacoste.
Rather than being an effective and efficient leader, Paula Wallace SCAD is a great resource to the University due to her education and participation in art. She won a leadership award in 2019. In an attempt to make SCAD a better and more productive place, Wallace, the academic leader, created opportunities in different fields. They include deFINE ART, SCADstyle, and TVfest.
She has also introduced a film festival in SCAD Savannah for celebrating visual and performing arts and architecture. The festival also creates opportunities for Design students to meet up and interact with popular icons from the same field such as Marc Jacobs. Paula Wallace SCAD president has also established projects where her students from different fields collaborate with companies’ executives. Some of these collaborating companies are Microsoft and Coca-Cola. Paula Wallace is the head of the Art Museum of SCAD that won top honors from several organizations.
