Ross Levinsohn: Leader, Adviser and Investor
Ross Levinsohn has long been seen as a leader in the world of technology and communication. With multiple roles throughout numerous well-known companies, he has the experience necessary to take even small and newly created companies the extra mile. In fact, his experiences throughout the sectors of business, finance and media have helped him grow into the leader needed to take a newer startup known as Maven to the pinnacle of success.
Levinsohn has landed many notable roles over the years, including vice president of CBS Sportsline, managing director of technology and digital media for Fuse Capital, CEO of Guggenheim Digital Media and CEO of Tribune Interactive, a company known for publishing numerous well-known titles, such as the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times. He also co-founded Whisper Advisors, which was designed around the premise of helping start-up companies to succeed in a competitive world. Perhaps most notably, however, Levinsohn served in the role of interim CEO of Yahoo during a particularly difficult time for the company around 2012.
All of these and similar ventures have set Levinsohn up for huge success as he became the CEO of Maven. Maven was started just a few years ago as a platform designed to host smaller media companies. Today, the company supports such major media names and titles as Sports Illustrated and Maxim. Levinsohn is expected to bring his own unique brand of leadership to the company, helping to open up new doors of success as the company continues to change and grow over the coming years.
Ross Levinsohn has taken over the CEO role from James Heckman, the founder of Maven. However, Heckman continues to share his knowledge on existing plans for the company with Levinsohn to ensure that the transition proceeds smoothly.
