Ross LevinsohnDuring the course of his career, Ross Levinsohn has overseen national publications such as the Baltimore Sun, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune. He has also spent time working for HBO, CBS and Fox Interactive Media. In 2019, Levinsohn was hired by Sports Illustrated to serve as the publication’s CEO. A few months later, he was hired by Maven to serve as its top executive, and as of June 2021, Levinsohn is still leading both entities.

Levinsohn Spent Six Years With Fox Interactive Media

At the start of the 21st century, Levinsohn was hired by a company that is known today as Fox Sports One. However, in 2000, the company was a small entity that had little market share in the United States. Thanks to Levinsohn’s leadership, it would grow into a company that broadcasts content to millions of people each day. The network is home to major college sporting events, global events such as the World Cup and professional wrestling shows.

Ross Levinsohn Becomes a CEO for the First Time in 2013

Although his time at Fox Interactive Media made him one of the top names in the business world, it would be several years before he would become a CEO for the first time. In 2013, Guggenheim Digital Media hired him to be its top executive, and this occurred roughly a year after Yahoo declined to give him their CEO role on a full-time basis.

The Tribune Company Hired Him in 2017

In 2017, Levinsohn was hired to be the CEO of Tribune Media’s digital division. This meant that he would be responsible for ensuring the online growth of publications such as the Los Angeles Time and Chicago Tribune. Levinsohn would remain in that position until joining Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated and Maven Make Levinsohn Offers He Can’t Refuse

A long-time sports fan, working for Sports Illustrated was an opportunity that Levinsohn wasn’t going to pass up. When Maven offered him the job as their CEO, Levinsohn was eager to accept the challenge of running two companies at the same time.
