Tom S. Chang MD And The Eye Care Gang
Are you striving JUST to make things happen or do you genuinely care about making a difference in the world? Do you worry there’s not enough time in the day to meet all of your goals? Confucius said, “The expectations of life depend upon diligence; the mechanic that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.” Tom S Chang MD epitomizes this and more in our society with his advancement of eye care development, his intention to think outside the box, and his realization that with enough grit and consistency you can transcend all expectations. Tom Chang has demonstrated excellence in many sectors including speaking three languages, his incumbency in the National Basketball Association, or being the architect behind the Retina Institute of California. Robin Sharma said, “If we practice being spectacular long enough, spectacular will become our way of being.” Tom S Chang MD is a world-renowned triple threat who obtained his MD from the University of Toronto and his ophthalmology residency from the University of Western Ontario. Tom has honed his craft by working in various capacities including Associate/Assistant Professors of Ophthalmology and a Director of Retina Fellowship.
Tom Chang specializes in ophthalmology pathology, vitreoretinal surgery, and macular disease. Tom S Chang MD collaborated with Johnson and Johnson in performing one of the first stem cell surgeries pertaining to macular degeneration. In 2005 he originated the incomparable Retina Institute of California. Tom has gone on to be a keynote speaker all over the world, publish dozens and dozens of peer-reviewed publications, and even served as a mentor to top-tier businesses. This story affects me personally because I was born with nuclear sclerotic cataracts that have made life quite challenging for me, but to know that the industry of eye care research is advancing at exponential rates because of people like Tom Chang is so refreshing and assuages the fear of growing old with cataracts. I for one look forward to what else he accomplishes and the many trails he’ll blaze in the coming years for future generations. Let his example serve as a reminder that in whatever you do, you’re the only one that can bring what you bring, and the world will be better for it. Read More.
