Vik Bansal Leads Australia in the Recycling of Plastic Waste
According to environmental analysts, there is an extensive Island of Plastic waste resting in the Indian Ocean, similar to France’s size. Due to the immense size of the Island, it has been named the great pacific garbage patch. The patch is said to have over 1.8 trillion pieces of trash, which are harmful to marine and human life.
The recent research has also revealed that there is a possibility of humans producing over twenty-seven billion tonnes of waste by 2050. The floating patch of plastic waster on the Indian Ocean is a clear indication of the effects of plastics waste on the environment. However, an increased number of government agencies and businesses have joined hands to create a more sustainable future.
Recently, Australia has announced its program on waste recycling courtesy of the Recycling Modernization Fund. The government of Australia has set aside about $190 million to fund the recycling program. This program will create over ten million jobs for Australia’s people and eradicate about ten million tonnes of plastic wastes from the environment.
